Contacts Overview

Last Updated: Apr 15, 2016 02:56PM EDT

Contacts are all of the people that are in your Ambassador account. There are several different types of contacts, including ambassadors, prospects, unsubscribed and banned contacts.

Who are my ambassadors?

Ambassadors have an email address and are enrolled in at least one of your campaigns.

Who are my prospects?

Prospects are contacts that have an email address, but haven't yet been enrolled in a campaign. These could be current or former customers that have not joined your referral program yet.

Who would be unsubscribed?

Your contacts have the option to opt-out of communications that you've sent to them through Ambassador. In the event that someone unsubscribes from your emails, they'll end up in the unsubscribed tab. Additionally, if you choose to unsubscribe an ambassador, they will end up in this section.

This is also a great place to upload any opt-out lists that you have from other email service providers that you use (ex. MailChimp, HubSpot, Eloqua, etc.). For more information on importing these lists, check out our support article: How do I import my contacts?

Who would be banned?

If you would like to block an ambassador from any campaign that they're currently in, as well as any future campaigns that you create, you can ban them.

Where do I manage my contacts?

To manage your contacts go to “Manage” tab and select “Contacts.” From any tab under Contacts, you can check the box next to a contact, then update the record to:
  • Enroll them as an ambassador.
  • Unsubscribe them from future communications.
  • Ban them from all current and future campaigns.
  • Add/remove them from groups.
  • Export the selected contact(s) into a CSV file.
